EXCURSIONS
Gulangyu Island is a short ferry ride from Xiamen, and once there you’ll wander in peace, as the island is totally car free. Enjoy a day on a soft sandy beach. Hike to Sunlight Rock, the island’s highest point for stunning views back over the city’s skyline. Or explore winding streets that’ll transport you back in time. Gulangyu also has a unique musical legacy, boasting the highest number of pianos per capita in China. Catch a live performance or discover a collection of rare instruments in the Piano Museum.
LANDMARKS
From whisper-quiet temples to bombastic fortresses, Xiamen has attractions to suit every mood and moment.
