From your boutique hotel, Cornwall’s picturesque countryside and untamed coastline will be at your feet. You could spot rare flowers on the Roseland Peninsula or Lizard Point. Then take an invigorating walk along the cliff paths for a glimpse of whales and dolphins – or pay a visit to Godrevy near St Ives to see seals asleep on the sand. Don’t forget to seek out the county’s world-famous beaches – from the myth-shrouded ‘giant’s steps’ at Kynance Cove to the top surf-spots surrounding Newquay.
CULTURE
Cornwall has inspired artists and writers for centuries. Famous locations include Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, and the wilds of Bodmin Moor where Daphne Du Maurier’s smugglers came to Jamaica Inn. Find some inspiration of your own in St Ives, home to numerous galleries, artist’s studios and Cornwall’s Tate. Or you could spend an evening at the Minnack Theatre. This open-air amphitheatre is perched above the cliffs and coves of Porth Curnow, providing a spellbinding backdrop for live music and theatre.

Little ones and grown-ups will find a wealth of things to see and do in Cornwall, whatever the weather. You could head for sheltered beaches such as Gyllyngvase in Falmouth – perfect for paddle boarding. Or explore the Helford River by canoe, before meeting seals at Gweek Seal Sanctuary. Be sure to make time for the Eden Project. Marvel at the huge open-air sculptures before stepping inside the futuristic biomes, where you can walk from tropical rainforest to the sunny Mediterranean.
