Designed to blend with and bring ongoing benefits to the Carneros winegrowing region, the resort implements organic farming methods throughout its grounds, which are dotted with fruit and nut trees to improve soil quality, alongside biodiverse gardens home to native, drought-tolerant plants. Water-conserving cottages are fitted with geo-thermal pumps, are naturally ventilated with heat-reflecting roofing, and the rocking chairs on each porch are made from recycled milk cartons. Recycled wax cardboard logs stoke the fireplaces, and any left-over soap is donated to Clean the World to be repurposed across the globe. Join ‘All the Buzz’ bee tours of the resort’s apiary, followed by honey, wine and cheese tastings, and explore guided trails on foot or free-to-borrow bicycles through the rolling vineyards.

Cultural Custodians

Inspired by the earthy tones and deep wine reds of Napa Valley, Carneros Resort was built using natural materials and decorated with antique farm tools, wine-making equipment, and traditional crafts sourced from local antique stores. Guests can get creative in art classes hosted at a neighbouring artist’s studio and gallery, and local wineries are invited to the resort each week for guests to sample produce from small-batch suppliers. The resort participates in Napa’s vibrant programme of cultural events, such as BottleRock, Festival Napa, Napa Film Fest, and Napa Food and Wine Festival. Each year, Carneros Resort partners with Broadway and Vine, a local organisation offering performance opportunities, classes, and mentorship to support wine country’s young professionals.

Community Minded

Adopting a ‘think local’ approach across the resort, staff are hired from the area and Napa’s independent businesses are supported wherever possible. Seasonal events are hosted at the resort for locals to enjoy free of charge, such as outdoor movie nights in the summer, and tree lighting entertainment around the festive holiday with complimentary cocoa and warm cider. Locals are also given a 10% discount in the resort’s Market, and musicians from the neighbourhood are invited to play in the Carneros Pavilion five nights a week, all year round. In addition to the resort’s homegrown produce (including eggs from the chicken coop), each restaurant works closely with local farms to source the freshest ingredients in line with the field-to-fork ethos.
